Saying goodbye

Andrew and Emily Sorlie started Honey and Dear in 2007. That was a long time ago in film years! They had many laughs, travelled around the globe and met amazing couples, many of whom they are proud to still call friends. While always doing both weddings under the Honey and Dear name, and corporate/commercial work under the Stature Films name, in 2017 Andrew and Emily decided to move away from weddings and devote that time to documentary and educational films work.

“We were honoured to be a part of so many of your weddings, and glad that we could make memories for so many of you. We are excited to show you what the future holds!” - Andrew and Emily

Q&A’s

“I was recommended to you by a friend, now who do I get to film my wedding!!??”

Have no fear. We are lucky to have some amazing and talented people as friends who make amazing and beautiful films. If you need help finding a replacement film team, email me and I will help you find the right fit. Send me as many details as you can and I will connect you with someone!

“WHY DID YOU close?”

We had a blast doing weddings but found our time to be in the industry was coming to an end, we became more and more passionate about our documentary work and wanted to pursue those more fully - so we decided it was time to step away from weddings.

“You filmed my wedding, now where will my wedding film live?”

For a time being we will keep hosting all our wedding videos on: vimeo.com/honeyanddear

If this changes in the future we will notify you!

"Who is the Honey and who is the Dear?"

That is the question we get most asked by our couples. And after years of joking around about who is who in the Honey and Dear family...we have realized the answer is: you. Every wedding we film, every couple we choose to start a relationship with, we fit with because we look at them and we see a Honey and a Dear.

The name originally came from a friend (albeit a branding savvy friend) who was picturing our couples, old and happy, thinking back on their full and wonderful lives together, a lifetime of "oh honey..." and "yes dear".

What started as a husband and wife team of filmmakers is now a small and feisty family of folks passionate about film. We don't do many weddings. We don't have multiple teams or spend the weekends running from one wedding to another. When we do choose to film weddings, we choose people who get us. People choose us because we get them. We don't ask for much: a little trust, a sense of humour, and a bit of your time.

And when your old and grey and your honey asks if you want to re-watch your wedding video, you say "yes dear".
